Obecný popis
- Cenově dostupné startéry jsou vyrobeny s ložisky s delší životností než u OEM.
- Mnoho startérů OEM má nechráněné výstupní jehlové ložisko na vnější straně těsnění výstupního hřídele; vlhkost může pronikat a proniká do výstupního krytu elektromotoru a po hřídeli kotvy se dostává k nechráněnému výstupnímu jehlovému ložisku a způsobuje jeho korozi.
- Společnost Rick's učinila další krok a do své nové jednotky pro náhradní díly nainstalovala kuličkové ložisko s dvojitým těsněním, přičemž těsnění výstupního hřídele je na vnější straně ložiska.
- Tímto jednoduchým použitím zdravého technického rozumu se dosáhlo dvou věcí: zaprvé je nyní vnější ložisko chráněno před škodlivým vniknutím vody a zadruhé je utěsněné kuličkové ložisko vyměnitelné.
